The same Western snap shirt, in a red inspired by Kauai's red dirt. Kauai is the oldest of the main islands, and millions of years of rain have weathered its lava into soil rich in iron oxide, the rust red you see in Waimea Canyon. Yarn-dyed, so the color is in the thread, not on top of it.
Palaka history here.
Fabric & Construction
- Yarn-dyed palaka Cowboy Cloth. The plaid is woven in, not printed on, so the color is in the thread and stays there wash after wash. Lightweight, cotton-rich blend.
- Palaka is the Hawaiian plaid worn by plantation workers and Paniolo (Hawaiian cowboys) since the 1800s
- Long sleeve | Western fit | Pearl snaps | Shoulder yokes
- Lightweight, quick-drying and wrinkle-resistant
- Designed in Waimea, Hawaii. Imported.
